Embossed polyester strapping aids in tensioning transmission because it slides more easily around a package because there is less surface area in contact with the package. Contrast that to smooth strap which has to have a wax application to facilitate transmission around a package and also with the welding process. Wax is somewhat of a problem with tooling and equipment due to it's dusting and build up within the tensioning wheels and gripper pads. Therefore, embossed strap is a little easier on the tools and allows for less maintenance and wear. In addition, we've found that embossed strap generally welds easier and provides slightly better seal joint efficiency.
